Ross Alumni Celebrate at Thanksgiving Eve Reunion

AR1 On the evening of November 26, Ross School alumni gathered with their former teachers and mentors in the Ross Gallery at Upper School to reconnect, share stories about their current adventures and accomplishments, and reminisce with old friends about their days at Ross.

On one of the busiest travel days of the year, a storm and heavy rains caused flight delays, flooding and terrible traffic on the roads heading to the East End of Long Island. However, even with the weather conditions, there was a great turnout. Alumni, some from as far away as California, Boston and Washington, D.C., came to catch up with their former classmates; and the warmth and laughter shared in the gallery was a welcome respite from the downpour and cold temperature.

As alum mingled, they browsed the Ross Alumni Art Exhibition, which features impressive works from 21 artists who graduated from Ross in the last 13 years and are now studying art in college or working as professionals in creative fields. Several of the artists were also in attendance.

All agreed it was a special experience and an opportunity to rediscover what made Ross “home” for so many years.

The event was organized by the Ross Development office. “We are really working on re-engaging our alumni community this year,” said Courtney Wingate, associate director of Development. “Bringing our alum back to campus is important to strengthening a lifelong connection to our School.”

To further the connections initiated with this first gathering, Ross will host an alumni basketball game on January 6 in the Center for Well-Being from 4-6pm, directly following the Upper School’s homecoming pep rally. All graduates are welcome and can register to play by contacting Courtney Wingate at or 631-907-5214.

It was wonderful to visit with our Ross alumni. See you all in 2016!
