While many are familiar with the fact that Ross School’s talented students and faculty produce diverse, sophisticated art and literature, sharing that work with the world at large has not always been easy to do. Last year, students Caitlin Cummings and Eli Schultz conceived of a way to spread the word about the amazing contributions made by the Ross community. Together, they started a literary and art blog dedicated to showcasing work by Upper School students and faculty: The Territory Ahead.
The blog is still going strong this year. Now seniors, Caitlin and Eli have recruited Elizabeth Burdge, Claire Yan, and Alex LaPierre to help with posting submissions and to sustain the blog through the inevitable turnover as students graduate. In addition, the team of students has expanded their scope a bit, adding music compositions to the writing, photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, and video submissions, and accepting submissions from students in grades 7 and 8 as well.
“We’re looking forward to finding new media to post as well,” says Caitlin, “so please feel free to submit works that do not fit within those categories. We can’t wait to see what the students and faculty will submit this year.” New posts appear each Monday and Friday at http://blogs.ross.org/literaryart. For submissions and questions, please email email@example.com.
